Guidance for A-SSCC2013 Speaker Rehearsal

Due to a national event occurring on campus at the same time as the speaker rehearsal, local participants who are driving are advised to park only at carparks 13,15 and 16.

The ASSCC2013 speaker rehearsal is scheduled to from 1pm to 3.30pm (Singapore Time) and from 3.30 pm to 6pm on 10th November 2013 at Engineering Block (E3) within the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore Campus.

All Session chairs and speakers for technical sessions are requested to attend the rehearsal

Shuttle bus services

ASSCC provides a single trip free shuttle bus service from the Hard Rock hotel and the Bay hotel to the speaker rehearsal venue. A return trip is also provided from the rehearsal site back to the Hard Rock hotel. Please refer to the table below for the shuttle bus schedule. There will be students to usher you from the bus stop to the venue.

All Buses will show ASSCC2013 logo.

From Changi Airport:

By Taxi
Taxi from Changi Airport to National University of Singapore, Kent Ridge Campus takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Please request the driver to exit the expressway at Clementi Avenue 6 exit and enter Kent Ridge Crescent (School of Architecture/Design Engineering entrance) and thereafter enter the Computer Centre car park No. 17 inside Engineering Drive 4. Please direct the driver to drive up the hill towards the guard house round-about atBlock E5(Please refer to map and Appendix A). Taxi fare is less than SGD40 for a single trip.

By MRT and Bus
(1) Take East-West Line (Green) from Changi Airport and alight at Clementi MRT Station.
(2) Transit to level 1 bus interchange, purchase the single-trip EasyLink pass and board bus number 96.
(3) Please refer to Appendix B for directions after boarding the bus.

Within Singapore:
(1) Take the MRT to Clementi MRT Station.
(2) Transit to bus interchange at Level 1 of Clementi mall, purchase the single-trip EasyLink pass and board bus number 96.
(3) Please refer to Appendix B for directions after boarding the bus.

Guidelines for Presentation

The time allocated for presentation is as follows:

Regular presentation:
25 minutes (20 minutes for the presentation and 5minutes for Q&A.)

Short presentation:
12 minutes (10minutes for the presentation and 2minutes for Q&A.)

Notes for Speakers

1. There are PC and projector available in each room. If you prefer your own laptop, please remember to bring your own VGA adaptor (for Mac) and power adaptor.
2. Speakers are advised to save their PowerPoint presentation on a MS windows readable USB thumbdrive and bring a backup PDF-version of their presentation.
3. Speakers should arrive in their session rooms 15 minutes BEFORE the start of their sessions to report to the chair person.
